is the Robert D. Burch Professor of Economics and Law, Director of the Burch Center for Tax Policy and Public Finance, and former Chair of the Economics Department at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and taught at Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Auerbach was Editor of the AEA’s Journal of Economic Perspectives and the founding Editor of its American Economic Journal: Economic Policy. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the Econometric Society.
